Fun With Ball Brand Jars and a Giveaway!

It's canning season again and Jarden Home Brands has its fifth annual Can-It-Forward Day this Saturday August 1st!  It's always a lot of fun and features a LIVE broadcast from 11 AM- 4 PM EST, on FreshPreserving.com  that celebrates the joys of fresh preserving.  

There's an integrated chat function where viewers can have questions answered, and a celebrity mason jar auction!
As part of the fun, they sent me some products to try!  Have you seen the beautiful limited edition vintage style jars made this year?  They are part of their American Heritage Collection.  These jars are purple, quart and pint sized, and are based on jars made from 1913-1915.  I LOVE this color.
The large and small jars had slight variations in color that I really like.  I can imagine so many ways to use these...



They've also released their 37th edition of 
The Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving!
It is much bigger than previous editions with now over 500 recipes!  Full of beautiful how-to photos, it is a feast for the eyes...





Another way to use your pretty jars...
these fun Ball Mason Jar Sip & Straw Lids!



These are packs of sip and straw toppers for regular mouth jars- no bands...so you can use bands you already have...OR 


 it's really fun to use their Design Series Lids With Bands...


They sent me red and purple, but they also come in green and blue to complement your other jars...


You can use them on your jars for canning, home decor and gifts...


Or with the sip and straw lids...


So fun to mix and match...the lids are dishwasher safe and 
BPA-Free, too. I can hardly wait to use these at our gatherings!




And I love that you can use it without a straw, too...

    I love the lids and straws! I have a set that is white lids with green straws and they are so much fun, especially up camping. Gonna have to get a purple set now!

    My husband and I have been canning fruits and vegetables for forty three years and have on occasion used the pint jars for drinking our iced tea. The colored jars are simply beautiful. It's wonderful that they mimic the antique jars.
