Hi Friends!
It has been a very difficult week in our world...
I am praying for healing, peace, love, and change for good.
And I hope you are all staying healthy as more and more opens up again, and we venture out.
It is a beautiful time of year and the outdoors is calling!
With temperatures in the 80's and 90's this week, it has felt like summer!

This week I received the new Ocean Scents Set from Simply Earth!
This collection is so perfect for summer!
It comes with 4 wonderful 100% essential oils...
Spearmint, Rosemary, Lime, and Himalayan Cedarwood!
They are shipped in these great little boxes to insure safe shipment.
They include a recipe card with 8 recipes for diffusing.
They also have a Deluxe Ocean Scents Set With Diffuser, too, for those of you wanting one!
These are all great scents for summer, and work well in blends. The Himalayan Cedarwood has a woodsy scent, for nice undertones. You know I love citrus, but my favorite of this group is the Spearmint...it adds such a fresh scent when mixed with the other oils.
I don't have a diffuser yet, and decided to use the recipes to make foaming hand soap. Have you ever made your own foaming soap? I have the simplest recipe...I add 2 Tablespoons 100% Organic Castile Soap to a foaming soap dispenser and add water to the shoulder of my bottle. You can use it unscented, but it's so fun to add a little essential oil for your own personal scent.
This used the Beach Vibes recipe.
I doubled this recipe for soap...I usually use 10-15 drops essential oil total, for a bottle of foaming soap. The nice thing is you can adjust the amounts with the scent you like most
and personalize it. It's also nice that Simply Earth shares safety info for each oil or blend.

This recipe made a great blend...fresh tones from the lime and spearmint,
and woodsy, herbal tones from the Himalayan Cedarwood and Rosemary!
And using the Castile Soap makes a great foaming soap, one I find non-drying.

I love essential oils. Thanks for the tip on the foaming hand wash. Have a great weekend. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteThe scents sound very soothing. Yes, it's been a difficult week and months. Hopefully one day we can look back on all this and feel a sense of calm that maybe it is over. If it's ever over.

Linda, seeing the straw beach bag with towel and Ray Bans, doesn't that just say Summertime. I bet once you start making soaps, the house will smell so good. :) Blessings, stay safe, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI love what essential oils do. Sadly, I lost almost all my sense of smell several years ago. I can remember smells--weird, I know--but can't smell them anymore. That sounds like a wonderful collection. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI bet this smells amazing, Linda! It's so cool you can make your own foaming hand soap too. This will definitely come in handy when working in the garden, hosting parties outdoor or making ice cream cones with the littles :) Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteI love essential oils as well and these sound lovely, perfect for summer.
