Bachman's Spring Ideas House- Part Three- The Living Room, Sunroom...
Wednesday, April 21, 2010
In this post, I'll continue the Bachman's Spring Ideas House tour! Today features the lovely, restful living room and attached sunroom! If you're just joining the tour, there are two previous posts with other parts of the house! The above picture is an overall- the fireplace is such a focal point with the stacked mirrors on the wall! I love how they decorated the interior of the fireplace...
They made a statement on a side wall with a draped canvas accented with a vintage iron piece...
The flat screen television was displayed on an old artist's easel!
This next photo is a little blurry, but shows you the view looking at the room from the fireplace...
I really loved this old post office sorting unit repurposed as a wine rack/serving table!
A side table between the chairs featured these cute old store sign holders used as picture frames...
The sunroom is off to the side of the living room...a beautiful little garden room where you want to curl up in a chair with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea! This table is on one side~old treadle sewing machine bases topped with glass...
Look at this rustic old ladder used as a magazine rack...
Tied curly willow made a lovely, natural window treatment...
and here is the chair I mentioned...ready for relaxation...
and a little glass topped side table off to the side...it was made with stacks of old books bolted together as a base...
Birdcages were decoratively repurposed everywhere!
Next post...bedrooms! In other news...Look what I won from a giveaway from Kat at Low Tide High Style
She is a wonderful blogging friend and if you haven't visited her beautiful blog (but I'm sure you probably have) you will love it! She gave away these wonderful silver and found beach pottery shards earrings(I think they look like the sky) from Scarborough Seashells . Tara creates beautiful jewelry from found beach pieces- sea glass, shells, pottery shards- you'll love what you see in her shop! Thank you Kat and Tara!
Until next time...
Linda

That TV on the easel is brilliant! But that would have to be one sturdy easel. I think I'm gonna try it, thanks for the inspiration!

Isn't that tv on the artists easel just the best idea? I love repurposing. I have sewing machine tables scattered around. But haven't seen them two on either end like that. Love this!

Congrats on the nice win.
ReplyDeleteI would like to find one of the old post office sorters myself.
oh wow. Wow. WOW!
ReplyDeleteThe post office mail slot-table-turned wine rack...my family has several members as mail carriers. I covet this piece.
Love the color.
AND! although I'm not a TV nut- that is a great idea for mounting the Flatscreen.
How do people think up this stuff?
Thanks for showing these pictures- your so fortunate to get to go here in person and share with all of us...who didn't.
I'm posting on my spot letting everyone know to come see these generous photos.
I'm very anti-TV, but I LOVE the flat-screen on the easel. I think it may be the only way I would let another television into the house.
ReplyDeleteDid you take note of how it was attached to the easel? I would hate for it to just slip off. CRASH!
I love the cubby...what a fun place!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for your sweet words of encouragement for me and my family!

Hi Linda! Thanks for stopping by my little ole blog. I love your two babies, Sophie and Bailey. If you love one type of smooched face, you seem to love them all. I will enjoy catching up with your blog and thanks for following and commenting at mine!! I learn so much from all of you more experienced bloggers.
ReplyDeleteOh, MY! So many fabulous ideas! I love it, thanks so much for featuring this.
ReplyDeleteI find this house particularly interesting because of the wood trim, mine has the wood trim and I am struggling to make the rest of the rooms look good with it.
Hugs, Cindy
