Well, after 70 degree temps, followed by an unwelcome winter storm...
I am still thinking spring!
I am still thinking spring!
This week I put together a little spring garden decor
project using an old work apron!
project using an old work apron!
I used an old work apron found at a garage sale last year.
It is waist length on me, and would be a long apron on a child.
It is just the right size for a wall hanging piece!
A vintage pants hanger is perfect for holding the apron...
the clips are adjustable to right where you need the piece to be held.
Then I started adding fun vintage garden goodies...
I love this old children's book which teaches about buds in the spring.
Such cute illustrations!
A vintage seed box is perfect.
I hung the piece on framed chicken wire...
but wouldn't it be charming on a door, too?
I think this old apron will be fun to decorate all through the year!
Until next time...
You have such a creative eye! I absolutely love how this turned out! Simply assembly, big vintage impact.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I love this little apron...and it was a fun project!
DeleteThis is a cute idea. You can do many fun things for every season too.

Thank you, Cindy! I'm already thinking of how to use the apron for other seasons!
DeleteThat's so cute Linda! What a sad little story about the bud who grew too fast though!

What a fun vintage way to celebrate gardening. The frame with chicken wire is a great way to display it all. I love each element in the well used apron!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely adorable, Linda!! I'd say it would be great in my garden cottage but I can just imagine the critters finding those pockets way too cozy to nest in!!
ReplyDeleteThe apron is nice find and what fun creating the garden project ...I giggled to see the little bud book in the pocket ... Isn't it special that " little Bud' is being remembered through your sweet creation... Good for you for repurposing .... This was such an adorable post....Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The book really is adorable!
DeleteThis is just adorable. I could see this hanging outside during the summer months. Love this.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.
Hugs,
Kris
This is so creative and fun, Linda! You always amaze me with your great ideas! Love it - would be so cute in a potting shed. Going to pin this. Hope you have a lovely Easter! Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteImpressive! A gardener would just LOVE that! I think the chicken wire in the frame just completely sets it off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, this is lovely! And so clever! It seems you can make anything vintage work as decoration :-) I have a pile of vintage aprons, inherited from my grandmother, all in pristine condition and with beautiful prints. I keep thinking that it is a shame that they only come out of the closet once a year for a wash and an iron. I should learn form you.
