We had our city-wide garage sales starting yesterday...the weather was wonderful, and the finds abundant! We found LOTS of items for our upcoming vintage sales, but thought I would share some of them items that I decided to keep! I just love the huge framed print above (it is much prettier in person!)- we are finishing our screen porch and covered patio area, into one large garden style three season room- and it is perfect for what I am looking for! The photo below is from the screen porch section- it is something of a construction zone- but I still want to be able to relax out there while we are re-doing it! The big print will probably be used in the dining area that we are making in the connected covered patio- French doors and windows are going in soon, and a deck will be going on the front...all a work in progress!
Another piece I decided to keep was a vintage window that had been frosted and hand-painted with leaves and a welcome sign, and this nice-sized architectural plaster piece. These will probably end up in the porch or my foyer.
I found some fun pieces to take to the lake, where we decorate in a lodge style! I LOVE this old pillow sham and elk rug...
Two dollars for the sham and a quarter for the rug! I'll hang the rug on one of the walls...
and these charming serving trays...
I have been looking for a plate like this one with buffaloes for quite awhile~ my daughter kept one with wild boar...
Another goal I had this week was to find some pots to start a little herb garden~ I bought all three of these for $1.25! Everything is growing so well right now, it's the perfect time to start them!
All of the gardens are lovely right now...another variety of lilacs began blooming today~ they are a later variety and much stronger scented...
My pugs, Sophie and Bailey enjoy joining me in the yard, too...
They don't care too much about my finds, though...

Lovely finds. I especially like those serving trays - how pretty they are. Of course, the dogs win hands down for best finds - I see they like to snuffle around the yard just as my two do.
ReplyDeleteNice old window! It also looks like your dogs are hunting for treasures themselves.
ReplyDeleteI love that .25 rug. Wowzer. So glad you found my blog and hope you will visit often. You are going to love your porch makeover. I love my screened porch.....which we really get to use for three seasons. It's usually full of guests eating outdoors on Thanksgiving. I have plans to repaint the floor next week, then I am going to stencil fern leafs on it. :) Hope you are having a super great weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing finds! I especially love your porch layout. Cozy yet very elegant. Thanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteYour pugs are adorable, my doxie walks along the stone edging of my garden, too; like he doesn't want to get his feet wet!
Thanks so much Linda for stopping by...I've been visiting alot of great blogs, like yours, because I'm definetly loving the "look" of the decorating that I'm seeing on them, I'm so tired of the primitive look, I've been doing that style since 1983 and now it's time for a change:) I bought a some things and I'll have to paint some of my furniture but that's the fun part!
ReplyDeleteThanks again and I'll be back...love the water can picture, what a find, and those trays are so neat.
