A Simple Project Day...

This is a simple project that I have waited a long time to do!  I love artwork that is whimsical!  About two years ago I found an old mantel clock at a garage sale.  It was unusable with the interior in pieces, and I decide to part it out for projects.  I took the old case and painted it black with a distressed finish...

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, but was unable to find the graphics I was looking for!  Enter The Graphics Fairy with this wonderful man in the moon graphic !  It was exactly what I had been searching for- he had real personality!  I printed it out on heavy cardstock, cut it out , and glued it onto a black mat board circle cut to fit the inside rim.

I used black mat board as I knew the moon face would be a little smaller than the opening, and would look more seamless with a black surround.    I pushed the completed moon face through the back door of the clock case and pressed it up to the front edge...

That's it!  I just love this guy...look at him on a mantel...

or a cabinet...

or on the table with candlesticks...

Imagine him at Halloween...

He was worth waiting for...

Thank you Karen at  The Graphics Fairy !

  44. Hi Linda, This so cool and whimsical. I also found an old clock case, a rectangular one and the opening where the clock face used to be has a glass covering. I was going to add a clock face onto the glass but after seeing your project I will remove the glass. I am so glad i found your blog over at the Graphics Fairy searching for clock faces. I love your Etsy shop too but because I am in South Africa the shipping cost is often too high:(
