Some Fun Finds...
Saturday, September 25, 2010
This week I found some goodies out thrifting! Two 1880's music books were in the haul~ I love the rustic old covers, this inscription, the sheet music, and the graphics...
I love this old wood box with an autumn scene on the lid...
Look at this fun old canvas knapsack...I love the # 3 on the closure flap...
I love the patina on this great old horn !
There were some more romantic finds this week, too~ like this cute round embroidered pillow sham...
and this set of HIS and HERS embroidered pillowcases with lovely crocheted edging...
I also had some fun finds at the Haupt Antiek Market monthly sale! I love this old table runner found in dealer Pam S's space~ it has wear, but is so sweet to me...
And look at these fabulous vintage French Floral cards~ I bought 20 of them~ such lovely graphics! Deb Haupt, the shop owner, picked them up on her recent trip to Europe! They are softer and even more lovely then this photo shows...
I found these wonderful big rolls of seam binding in dealer Pam C's space...
Another fun find was this old reader in Kari's space...
Look at the wonderful old graphics!
I can hardly wait to do projects with scans from this book!
I am linking with Treasures and Trinkets Thursday
and Debbiedoos Garage Salen Party
Until next time...
Linda

ReplyDeleteNeato Linda. A good friend of mine is a piano teacher, so she would totally appreciate that cool music book. And the book with the vintage bird graphic is really cute. You could make copies of those pages and modge podge them on something fun! Thanks for joining me, you always find the neatest stuff. Have a great weekend. Debbie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful treasures! Those French graphic cards are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the embroidered shams, and I am planning to edge some pillow cases in crochet soon too! What fun finds!!

ReplyDeleteAwesome finds.A couple of months ago I found the same wood box with Autumn scene. The top had a bit of damage to the image. I glittered some of the leaves and some tree trunks, window frames, etc.Sold it first time out!Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I love those great and unique finds. You find the coolest things. The music book and that last book are great with those images.
ReplyDeleteLove your treasures, Linda! The music book and the vintage reader are my favorites. Love those graphics!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff LInda, and I always adore anything vintage music related. That seam binding is awesome! My friend uses that a lot on her cards, but she has to get it on line because you can't "buy" seam binding anywhere here like the old stuff. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI adore old embroidered linens and your finds are treasures. The little pink cards are darling. ♥O

ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! Thank you for stopping by my blog, and I'm SOOO glad that I followed you back to yours! It's amazing, beautiful and fun. But I insist that you take me "goodie hunting" with you next time. Well, might be difficult, since I live in Texas.
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower, and can't wait for your next installment.
If I had been with you I would have fought you for all that lovely embroidery and that reader...two things I love! Don't know why but there just aren't any great finds in my neck of the woods anymore! I need to go on a road trip!
ReplyDeleteLinda...just read your post on the Junk Bonanza & I have a question, just out of curiosity. Where in the world do you and the others find all this stuff? You never see much of this sort of thing in the area in which I live...south GA. Not sure anywhere in GA. I have often wondered if it was because a lot of our "stuff" was destroyed when Sherman marched through GA and burned everything during the War Between the States. There are a few antique markets around but most that I know of are expensive antiques, some craft items, etc. But I've never seen anything like your pictures show. I'm just totally curious as to how folks like you find all this stuff...it's amazing to me!
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, you really did find some good stuff! I need to get better about showing what I find. I love the music book and the knapsack.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Sunday,
KarenSue
