A Restful Place and a Lovely Surprise...
Wednesday, February 16, 2011
This week we started re-doing one of the bedrooms in our house! This room has had many uses over the last couple of years, but now it will be a guestroom/office. I finally was able to use some of the linens I found last summer ~ one of the embroidered cotton throws, and three matelasse shams...
The pretty Paris pillow was made by sweet Deb of Loyalist Cottage I won it in her giveaway a while back!
She has other styles in her etsy shop ...
I love the designs on the throw...
The daybed has French styling and lovely wicker inserts, and features a pull-out trundle bed...
Above the bed, we used this charming vintage cottage print...
An antique Victorian dresser scarf is draped over the end of the bed...don't you love the crocheted trim?
My husband and I made this tall cabinet many years ago for an antique store display, and it works perfectly across one corner of the room. The back is slat beadboard, painted gray...
I have begun filling it with vintage goodies...antique books, an old bingo cage with cork balls, and natural elements...still a few shelves left to fill...
Remeber the vintage suitcase I found thrifting not long ago?
There's still more to do in this room, and I'll share it with you soon! We are loving the restful feeling in this room!
Also, yesterday, I received the most wonderful surprise in the mail! My sweet friend Kat of Low Tide, High Style sent me a set of her wonderful new photo notecards! Kat is a wonderfully talented writer and photographer and I am always inspired by her beautiful blog as well as her willingness to take risks and to go for it! She is being published in national magazines and is now producing gallery quality fine art prints, as well!
Her beautiful notecards are featured in her new etsy shop where she has four different styles and mixed sets...
You probably are already following her wonderful blog , but if you haven't discovered her yet, please stop by for a visit! Thank you so much, Kat! You have been a wonderful, supportive friend, and I so enjoy our talks!
I am joining Savvy Southern Style's Wow Us Wednesdays Party
My Cottage Charm's Treasures and Trinkets Thursdays and
Common Ground's Vintage Inspiration Friday
Until next time...
Linda
