Thought I'd share another little peek at my kitchen re-decorating project! Today, I made a simple vignette on top of the refrigerator. I decided that instead of lots of little things, like I used to have here, I would use a few larger pieces. I think they have more presence in the room, and offer storage, as well! Since I am an antique dealer, sometimes it's fun to shop my own stuff! I love this antique metal bread and cake cabinet!
Such great graphics and patina...
Chippy vintage picnic baskets provide texture and storage...
I always love a sweet piece of vintage linen ...
This covered transferware dish is one of my favorite pieces...the dark teal blue color is so pretty...
I'm enjoying the fresh look !
I'm planning to get back to some painting this week...
I am joining Savvy Southern Style's Wow Us Wednesday
Until next time...

Just lovely! The baskets are perfect with the the bread cabinet. I love vintage linens too! Lumpkin and I went to our favorite local tea room and had lunch on Saturday. I love to sit and admire the vintage linens on the tables.

Looks great. I love baskets and that's a great idea to put one on top of the fridge and use for storage! My husband swears I'm going to die under an avalanche of baskets some day! Wish you lived close by so you could help me with my decorating!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good Linda! I love that bread cabinet. I just took a picture of mine today, because I'm going to strip the paint off of it, hope it works out.

Oh - bigger is better! That bread cabinet is just the crow's toes! I'm not even finished with the countertops and already I'm dreaming about what arrangements to add after it's all done - lol. Love your kitchen, great inspiration for me!
ReplyDeleteHey sweet Linda!! :) Thanks for you comment on the quilt Patty made for sweet pea, it was such a sweet blessing! (and you're right, the vintage sheets make it look modern..I love that!)
ReplyDeleteYour new vignette looks amazing..that little bread/cake box is so unique, I have never seen one quite like it! I love old stuff..I wish I lived closer so I could "shop" your stuff too. (of course I'd probably spend WAY too much, cause you have great stuff!!) lol I'm trying to find a cute kitchen scale, so I'm on the lookout here at my local peddler mall, but so far all I have found is old plastic ones. :-/ Not exactly what I'm going for! lol
Hope you have a wonderful, blessed week my dear friend
Hugs
Missy :)
This vignette is gorgeous, Linda. I love transferware and the bread/cake cabinet is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is perfect! I like the idea of the large pieces, they really make a statement. Now you've got me thinking....I have a couple of old picnic baskets and a couple of metal bread containers....my kitchen cabinet tops could use an update!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Jane
Oh my! Love all this!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Linda, how did you get back into the swing of things so quickly? I LOVE this post--it is purely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for sharing on my blog...I was totally wanting to know how people came into this, whether they always created, whether it's new--I think it is fascinating to find out...don't you?
XO
I love your picnic baskets, they are wonderful! I am going to be looking for two like that this summer, they are great for storage, aren't they. The large tin is great, too. It looks wonderful!

Can I come shop? I love the bread tin with the linen draped on top, a real nice contrast. You sure have lots of storage up there too. Very clever!
ReplyDeleteI love the antique bread and cake cabinet, too! You have really lovely vintage pieces and I really like how you have stacked the two colors of wicker baskets.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I just bought an old picnic basket...now I'm anxious to try it above my cabinets! Love your display! ♥
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. The bread cabinet is darling. Thanks for sharing. Karie
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! This is the first time to your blog for me. What a pretty area. Love the little cabinet and that beautiful transferware casserole dish is truly gorgeous!

Shelia ;)
Oh my...it's so pretty...love the linen!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Hi, Linda! Hope the kitchen is coming along. Love your spring mantel and this vignette. Hope it continues to look like Spring there for you!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous Linda and I love the old tin. I think we should have a "show us the top of your fridge" blog linky party. What do you think? It would also be a great incentive to clean the top of the refrigerator too which often gets ignored. I just did mine, only because I was painting the kitchen cabinets. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that vignette Linda! I can not wait to see your kitchen, and if this is any indication, it will be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe bread cabinet is a wonderful find. I would keep an eye on that one!
ReplyDeleteWhen you are done there, do you want to come visit and have a little more practice? Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI cannot even begin to tell you how much I love your style!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, thanks for dropping by my blog today. I am your newest follower...I like your blog!!! Love that bread cabinet, I passed one by last spring at an auction (should have left the husband at home!!!) Now I wish I had grabbed it.
