Not too long ago we moved into a smaller bedroom~ you can read about that change and see the before pictures here . I decided I wanted a lighter feel for spring and made a simple change... you might remember the large lot of matelasse pieces I found last summer (I used some in the guest room/office recently, too). I switched out the floral comforter for a coverlet and added two Euro shams behind the floral pillows...
I kept the bed ruffle...
and replaced the roses pastel painting (it went to the guest room) with a vinyl wall saying I bought from a Christmas clearance... it made a bigger statement in the room, too...
I love the cottage style feeling that mixing the bedding styles gives the room...
I always see pretty shams at thrift stores and think I'll start picking them up to change out the look other ways!
