Something New for the Porch...
Monday, May 23, 2011
We have a small home without much of a dining area, so we have been re-doing part of our large sunporch to use as a dining area for our growing family's gatherings. After a long winter, we are just starting to work on the space again, but we are still using it in the meantime. Right now we have a big folding table that we have used while we looked for a nice wood table. Well... look what I found at a garage sale last Friday! At eight feet long, and three feet wide, it is old and the exact size that we are looking for! It's sitting in the garage in these pics, as I'm going to do some work on the top...I love the distressed wear, but want to sand and clean up the finish a little. I am already imagining all the meals we will share around this great old table! And it was only $30!
I also found this great antique wicker table! The top is a big three feet across, perfect as a high side or game table...and it was only $3! I was in my happy place with these finds...
Don't you just love it when you find something you have been hunting for, and at a great price, too?

ReplyDeleteI love it! Sometimes I think I can will it to happen. I also can make someone put something down at the thrift by following them and saying to myself over and over..put it down~put it down...it only works when I'm by myself.

ReplyDeleteWow Linda, you got a GREAT deal! 30bucks?! Are you serious! :)Can't wait to see them in their new homes! :) We went to yard sales Friday and I found the cutest picnic basket..all new for $5.00..the plates etc were still taped up in the box, never opened! Carson found two HUGE (and I mean HUGE!) tubs of legos for $25.00...they wanted $40.00 but I taught him the art of making an offer and walking away when they say no...then they yell at you on the way to the car to accept it! lol :) He said, Mom, you taught me a valuable lesson today"! lol he cracks me up!

LOVE THAT WICKER! Nice find for your table too! My dining room table is very like it. A trestle like this. I used to have a giant dining room for it to extend it to its 12 ft. I raised my kids around it so I am never going to let it go. (I have six sons and a daughter.) We had two benches for each side. I think all families should have one! Ha! I'm so glad you got yours!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, girl. You impress me so much! I am dazzled!
