A Little Bit of Merry...

Thought I'd share a fun vignette with you!  I know a lot of you collect
little vintage reindeer...I like them, too!  Remember the big rusty reindeer I bought last year?  I love displaying it all winter.  This year, it joins some of my fun vintage goodies...

I used some great old blocks to spell out "MERRY"~
it makes a charming little platform for a reindeer...

I drilled a hole in the top of the "M", and glued in the wire end of a little bleached bottle brush tree, with the base removed.

I made the big chalkboard last summer for my daughter's wedding reception.  Using a great old frame, I backed it with a board painted with chalkboard paint.
Simple little hand drawn snowflakes make a whimsical backdrop...

After Christmas, I'll switch out the word "MERRY" to "SNOW" and use it the rest of the winter...sometimes simple decorations make a BIG statement...

Are reindeer showing up in your home this year?

I'll be joining

Until next time...

  19. Love this! The finish on your reindeer is beautiful. I buy my son a reindeer ornament every Christmas. Oh, they are a motley crew, three legged and single antlers, the damage they have seen, but I hope he still loves them.

One of the things I miss about living in the Mid-west is leaving Christmas/winter decorations up past New Years. I used to leave a little tree up with heart decorations til after Valentines. And of course snowmen!
    Merry Christmas!
    Susanne.

  26. Hey sweetness! :) I love your reindeer! When I was making my cloche ornaments that are on my blog, I looked everywhere for the teeny tiny reindeer and either couldn't find them, or couldn't afford what people wanted for them! I didn't realize how hard they were to find! :-0 I opted form Christmas trees, nutcrackers and snowmen....much more affordable! :)
    Have a Merry Christmas!
