Sometimes you run across vintage finds so charming, that your imagination wanders...
Recently I found this sweet old doll furniture. It is dated 1926, and has the name "Doris" on the underside of the high chair. It makes you wonder about little Doris and her dolls...
Yellow and gray, the paint has muted over the years...
and there is the remnant of an old drawer decoration...
The cute little dog was a past thrifting find...
as was the Redoute lily print. I just gave the frame a wash of white paint!
Such a sweet little vignette.
It's hard to imagine anyone parting with the well-loved old toys.
They found a home in our guest room...

Linda- Isn't that just the dearest little set of children's pieces? It makes you wonder whatever happened to Doris and how many times she lifted her baby dolls in and out of that little chair. It is so sad that it didn't stay in her family.
ReplyDeleteI have a dog collection from when I was a child. I think there are well over 100 dogs altogether. I really should display it one of these days. I love that dog you found. It is just adorable. xo Diana

You have made a delightful arrangement here. I am always charmed by doll furniture too. That is one of the loveliest vintage prints I have seen. The white frame adds a lot, I think, But that doggie really steals the show! So nice that you came by! I am recouping from runaway viral bronchitis. Knocked me flat!
ReplyDeleteThe little dog has captured my heart, so sweet as if he is looking out for someone....it all looks so lovely in your guest room. Sharon x
