Halloween on the Front Porch...

It's almost Halloween and time to share some front porch decorating!  Our "front porch" is really just a front step with a sidewalk in front of it, but I try to make 
the most of the space.  Of course, the fall leaves make a wonderful start...


Mums always add wonderful seasonal color along with pumpkins...



You might remember my old wood rocker.  Many of you thought it was red, but it is actually bright orange!  I added a chippy old black screen door as a backdrop, and some wood crows, along with a fun sign I painted...


I used an old board with a great gray/green paint and rustic patina, as my base...


nothing perfect here...



 I love this ceramic pumpkin I found this year, too...



On Halloween night, we light it up with little orange lights, and put a scarecrow in the rocking chair!  We are expecting a hard frost tonight, so the big fern will take on distinctly creepy purple-black foliage in time for Halloween...

    Looks so charming, Linda! I fear I haven't done any seasonal decorating since I've returned home. But the leaves all over the ground certainly evoke Fall!

    I love your cozy entrance, Linda, so beautiful decked for Halloween and autumn, with the old rocking chair, the mums,and pumpkins. Also love all the leaves lying there...mind you,-my husbond would get them away, even if I wanted them to stay,LOL

    Love your sign, Linda! The leaves give you a nice background, too. : ) My fern has just about given up and I haven't watered it. Whatever rain we had was all it was getting. I expect that it is going to be colder here, too, over the next couple of days so it will make it's way to the trash by the weekend.

    Linda- Well, it looks PERFECT to me. I am glad to see someone else that likes to see leaves blanketing their porch and areas for Fall. I do, too. Most people want them raked as they fall from the trees. I enjoy the crunch they make until they lose all color and get "bad". Hope you have a wonderful Halloween. xo Diana

    I'm with you - I LOVE a carpet of leaves in the front - even if they DO get tracked in the house! LOL I have a stoop similar to yours - sure would love a real porch some day, but I do what I can. This all looks great!

    You don't need a front porch when your entrance is as festive and welcoming as the one you've created, Linda! I LOVE your old screen door decorated with the fun sign you painted! The crows ad a nice touch, too. Love it all!

    Beautiful! I have a little stoop by my front door too, but then it has a small wooden deck leading up to it. I always have a hard time decorating these areas except in the summer when I can put out a lot of potted plants.

    I LOVE your front porch, Linda!! It screams fall to me with all those pretty leaves that have fallen to form a beautiful carpet. The crispness of fall is a favorite for me.
