About a year and a half ago I shared our simple bathroom redecorating project, If you haven't seen it, you can visit the before-and-after post HERE. I've made a few more little changes to the room, and thought I'd share them with you today.
This wall had a shell print and two butterfly prints, but it never seemed to be enough for the wall space. So I decided to add a few more nature prints. I love this Cavallini Decorative Paper - Bird, Eggs & Nest 20"x28" Sheet and framed it out with a poster frame from the craft store. Cavallini gift wrap posters are very inexpensive and have a great look for art that makes a statement.
We have several other wonderful Cavallini posters in our home including these (you can click on the photos to see more)~
There are lots of other fun ways to use these posters besides regular frames, too!
I'm a lot happier with the wall now...
I also added a valance over the chenille shower curtain. I normally would just buy a finished valance, but I found three large pillow covers at IKEA and loved the fabric print. I simply folded over the tops, used iron-on fusible tape to create a casing,
and put them on a rod.
Finally, just in case someone needs directions...I found this metal enamel sign over on one of Antique Farm House sale events...
Little changes can add a lot of personality to a space...

Until next time...
Linda...the idea for the valance was great...I love when ladies do creative things like this. It really inspires me, especially because I don't sew.
ReplyDeleteThe Cavallini paper is so great! I have a tray I bring out for Easter that has a similar pattern and I treasure it. I'm going to have a look at your link. Thank you!

Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI love your wall grouping and ... can't believe you are still blogging at this hour...and that I'm still reading blogs at this hour! Really clever using the IKEA pillow covers as a valance.

Hi Linda, I love the things you framed. You just proved it doesn't take a lot of money to have a custom art piece. I like the valance too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteAs always, you inspire me! Thanks for the eye candy. I love it all! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the wall posters - those bird and egg prints are adorable. I love all your little changes, Linda!
ReplyDeleteLinda, you have the best ideas! I love your posters. I haven't heard of them before and I am going to look into more about them. Your valance is so lovely. I have those pillows from Ikea on my living room sofa, but I never would have thought to use them as a window treatment.
ReplyDeleteThe posters are perfect - I like all of them here.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh the valance is so awesome. What a clever idea. Your bathroom looks stunning.

Your prints are gorgeous, Linda! And I love your shower curtain and valance, too. You are right little changes can indeed make a huge impact! I just love Cavalinni, and have two large framed prints of theirs, one a vintage map of Paris, the other a French bird print. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your changes. The prints are amazing as is the clever way you made the valance. Your so right, it's a great pattern. Your room is looking so nice and fresh!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea on how to obtain art for your house on a budget! The prints look great in your bathroom. I hope you don't mind me asking you a question re. the iron-on fusing. I have some and want to try and hem a pair of cotton (kind of heavy) curtain panels. If it doesn't turn out...if it doesn't fuse well or I make the hem corrected, is it easy to remove the fusing? Or, would the curtains be "ruined" forever? Thanks so much for any help, if you can!
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of print in the valance. Nice touch.

Looks great! I can't believe you just made that valance...so cool! I would never have thought of that! Loving your botanical prints!

Love your changes, Linda! All your prints are so pretty. I love the Cavallini prints and have used their calendar pages to frame and decorate things (like my new plain address book). I had no idea they had these poster prints. I love the eye chart. I have to hang the pictures back up in our bathroom and I'm thinking of doing them a bit differently, too.
ReplyDeleteyup...we share that love for Cavallini! it all looks great
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom has the same colors that I will be using in my bathroom remodel! I love the valance you made using pillow covers and how easy that was. I want to go to Ikea some time soon. I haven't been in over a year! I like those prints on the wall too. I've heard of that brand before and have always noticed they have great prints!
ReplyDeleteWow how timely, I am just now at the start of a bathroom renovation! I love those prints and I am headed there now. Your bathroom looks wonderful

What a thrifty and clever way to decorate your walls. I have the eye chart, just haven't found a perfect spot for it yet.
ReplyDeleteLovely wall grouping! I especially love the thrifted frame :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the nature prints and the pretty valance ties it all together. Love the 'toilet' sign, too. Great job - very nice! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI love the wall art gallery. The prints look very vintage and great framed! I think you did a great job with the valances. I think I may could do that. I don't sew. One thing I wished I had listened to my mama about.
