It has been a very COLD and snowy week here in Minnesota! So what's a girl to do? Go thrifting, of course! Actually I had to go out for an appointment,
and figured I might as well make a few side stops...
The roads were so bad, not many people were out at the stores...so I had some great finds! Isn't this a cute little bench/stool? Painted a great black color,
it was a perfect size to add to my stack in my dining room...
A big old lab bottle was another find...great for holding a few pine cones...
Another find for my dining room is this footed wooden bowl...
a newer piece, it looks so pretty on the table...
pretty gilt decoration...
Finding Tea Leaf English ironstone dishes in a thrift store,
especially more than one piece, always surprises me.
especially more than one piece, always surprises me.
Beautiful, aren't they?
This 1930 framed photo charmed me...
I love the ribbon on the horse and the little boy looks so proud...
Finally, I found a shell-decorated wood box. I collect these,
and this one is a different pattern than I have found before!
such lovely color tones...
Thrift stores are always like treasure hunting...
hope you found a little treasure this week, too!
Until next time...
Great find, love ths stool and how they are stacked on each other. Have a lovely weekend and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI've only gone out a few times

Stay cozy, Linda!

ReplyDeleteYou found some good stuff. Any of that would fit right in my house decor LOL
You found some great little treasures, Linda! I have only gone out when I have had to, except for two days when I went to the gym after lunch. It has been frigid here and the sun can be deceiving! This morning I ran errands and it worked out great because everything was along the way and fairly close together, one stop after the other.
ReplyDeletelove your pics, linda!!! hugs, angie
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous finds! I went to the thrift store today and found a few treasures myself! It was a good day!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Aww, that little boy. So qute, made me feel a little sad to think that noone treasured that photo anymore. Perhaps they are all gone, who knows. Glad you found it. Looks as if you have been very lucky with your finds, love the little stool in particular. Not had much luck thrifting for ages here, either the shop is charging too much or l just don' seem to find anything. Perhaps luck will be better now, after Christmas. Happy weekend, Pam xx
ReplyDeleteVery nice, love seeing your stack of stools too. Great finds. Happy New Year Linda.
ReplyDeleteI finally got out to do a little junking last weekend. Love all of your goodies especially the picture of the boy on his horse.
ReplyDeleteWow! You found some real treasures! Love the little bench and the black bowl. Really great finds.

Oh Linda, I admire your ability to go out into that cold. I can only imagine what those temps are like right now. I hate to admit it but I complain when the weather dips into the 40s haha I'm such a wimp. But I can see the kind of deals to be found on a icy day. I love the photo of the little boy, how sweet. I can imagine his happy afternoon when I see that ribbon proudly displayed. I always enjoy looking at your collections, the black stool is little stunner and it looks perfect stacked with the others.. Stay warm Linda,
ReplyDeleteI'm off to sand my office floor....
hugs,
Leslie
It's always fun to see what we can find at the thrift store...♥ your jar with the pine cones.
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky girl! I would have grabbed that bench as well! Is 2015 your magic year?! :)

Well, that was worth the trip out in the cold! Pretty soon you'll have benches all the way up to the ceiling and you'll have to start another stack :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you really scored for a cold winter day! I especially love that huge lab bottle - what a find!

I guess it paid off to brave the cold weather and head out to the thrift store, Linda! You found some fun items and I'm loving those old wood bowls on your scale. I ventured out the other day and was rewarded with a small but fun treasure at our thrift. The sun is shining this morning and it feels good! Stay warm!

Finding treasures at thrift stores and estate sales are the hi-lite of my week. Not that I go every week, but love it when I do! You found some really great stuff. Love, love the bottle!

Linda, those are some fun finds! They are all great but my faves are the stool and the bottle. They look great on your stack of other stools. Stay warm!

Now that is what I call a die hard thrifter, battling snowy and icy roads! I am in love with your giant apothecary jar! So neat! And the stool and pedestal bowl are great finds, too! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteFun finds. Love the little stool and the wood bowl.
ReplyDeleteThrift stores are wonderful, and you sure found some great treasures, Linda. I like to go out when everyone else is staying home...makes shopping more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
You must have some great thrift stores, Linda... I love everything, especially the bowl. We have one thrift store nearby and it mostly has clothing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking about Layla. She has two more days of the meds but she is back to being feisty! :)

Great finds, Linda! I haven't been thrifting in awhile because I have waay too much stuff in this house and I've been slowly paring down instead of bringing more in. However, I did stop at Goodwill the other day (hadn't been since November - a record for me) but all I found was a shirt (a brand-new one from Kohls) and a book. No "treasures"! Don' know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, lol.
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to hit the thrift stores, or take all my little Florida shells to your house!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds ~ I really love the stool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Huntin'
Blessings
Robin
