Christmas is coming soon and I have been doing a little decorating! Would you like to take a little peek inside? I always think how fun it would be to look inside houses as I drive by them...home tours give us that chance! It's a bit of a long one...so grab a cup of coffee, or whatever you're having
and come on in...we'll start in the foyer...
and come on in...we'll start in the foyer...
After all the bright colors I used for fall, I was ready for a simpler, restful feeling. Most everything is decorated with green and neutrals...with a few fun pops of red.
I switched out my Dear Lillie chalkboard download for a Christmas style...
I recently hung this clock in the space. When my father passed away last year, each family member chose clocks from his large collection. This old clock has seen better days...but spoke to me, and always brings my father close to mind...
We added lots of woodland elements this year...
The porch is always a fun space to decorate...
Most of our greenery is left unadorned this year...
Let's head up to the living room! We're pretty relaxed and rumpled here with dogs and lots of family...
I love our flocked tree...this year it is decorated in mostly
silver, gold, and white...
silver, gold, and white...
These little guys are frequent visitors to our window feeder...their antics are fun to watch...and the birds feed on the other side!
This studious fellow joined our gallery wall...
The living room connects to the dining/kitchen area...
If you haven't read the story of the Santa Apron, it is a post from 2010. Filled with my Christmas memories, it remains my most favorite post. I hope you'll stop by and read it if you get a chance!
A beautiful reflection of a beautiful soul!
ReplyDeleteLove you, sweet friend.
LOL the deer with glasses / now, I enjoyed everything here but that was my favorite and after that the little squirrel as I feed them here too :)
ReplyDeleteTo be honest...the deer and the squirrel are my favorites, too (except for the pugs lol)
DeleteOh, Linda - your home looks beautiful! So festive, yet comfy and cozy. I'm pinning like crazy! Thanks for sharing it at the Vintage Inspiration Party
ReplyDeleteI am totally in love with your Christmas decor. So calm and peaceful but happy! Love the soft greens and neutrals. I found so many things I would love to copy. As always my favorite is your JOY sign! Going to read your Santa apron post.

I love the neutrals. I am going that way more and more. Perfect with vintage decor. You always have so many neat pieces cleverly displayed. Glad I caught your Christmas tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat a serene and lovely home you have - it feels so peaceful and tranquil!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home! Love your details of the season. Di@cottage wishes
ReplyDeleteYour home is so beautiful! I love how you did this year's decorations in neutrals - it's so serene and classic.
ReplyDeleteI really love every single holiday touch you have, Linda. Simple and perfect. I'm trying for that this year myself. I especially love the wreaths in your living room windows...so traditional and fresh looking. I'm going to follow your lead---I've been puttering all day adding things here and there all over the house instead of decorating room by room. I hope that gives me a more minimal look.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your dad. I didn't know. The clock will be a treasure, I know.

How to have Christmas in a Black/white house...you did it to perfection. So warm and inviting, quirky and traditional all at the same time. Love it, thanks for the tour, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI love the natural touches in your Christmas decor, right down to that live squirrel peeking in the window. What a great shot! I'm going to add some of your images to my Pinterest board. Wonderful inspiration in this post. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love your whole house, it truly is a beautiful home. It seems so cozy and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe soft whites and woodland theme are restful and festive. I am so copying the pine cones on a string banner and the little pocket of herbs hung on the cupboard door.
Gosh, Linda, wait a minute, I have something in my eye after reading the Santa Apron. I think good childhood memories ar also why I love decorating for Christmas every year too. It's my gift of love to my family to host the buffet dinner on Christmas Eve so all who are in town can share a glimpse of those memories.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so good in holiday decor. I really love your porch, your chalk art, and that tiny little tree in that old fashioned tree stand. I can still remember the smell of that canned snow too! And those hats - loved those. My sisters and I had one each (and remember stocking hats?). Love this post and the related ones. Merry Christmas!
Rita
Everything is just SO lovely, Linda! You are so talented with details and I am loving your studious stag ;) I wanted to invite you to share @A Very Thrifty Christmas ~ another party I'm hosting thru Christmas Eve! Hugs, Cecilia
ReplyDeleteAs nice as the Bachman house!
ReplyDeleteOh I so Loved your Home Tour... you have Created an Atmosphere that is Inviting and makes you want to linger and relax. Loving your Simple Organic Styling for the Holidays, including the Chalkboard Elements, which are some of my Favorites this year and we used Chalkboard Tags on our presents... I too kept most of our Greens unadorned and I really liked how it turned out. Smiling at your Fur Babies relaxing... clearly they are Enjoying the Ambiance too! Merry Christmas from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
ReplyDeleteLinda, I really enjoyed your simple, neutral color scheme. Everything looks so calm and serene. Just beautiful. I remember your post about the Santa apron and went back to read it again. Have a wonderful holiday season! Ann
ReplyDeleteLinda, Your home is just beautiful with so many wonderful ideas. You must have had a wonderful time decorating it and now sitting back and enjoying it. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI think I could live there with those decorations year 'round. Just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I don't have the physical strength to decorate as I used to but I do so enjoy seeing how others bring the season's cheer to their homes.
ReplyDeleteYour home is absolutely stunning Linda, and your photographs of it are just lovely. I saw so many of your touches that I hope to be "borrowing," if not this year, then next. Love the wreaths on the windows, your chalkboards, wreaths, pillows, and the gorgeous simplicity. Thanks SO much for linking it up at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteWanted to let you know Linda that I'll be featuring your home tour on Vintage Charm tomorrow :) See you there!
DeleteWanted to let you know that your post has been selected Vintage Charm's December Feature of the Month-congrats, Linda :) We'll be posting about it tomorrow on all four blogs and on our social media.
DeleteLinda I know what you mean about craving more neutral colors and adding pops of red --although I loved those black skates! There's so much to enjoy throughout your home but the overall feelings is one of warmth and love. I can see your touch in everything. And I might have to borrow your hot choc station idea. I have a tray that will work and I had no idea what to do with it. I was also so happy to read your comment and hear the way you're enjoying the season. Slowing down is a blessing if we can do it :)I hope all is well with you and your family.
