A Whimsical Mantel for Spring and Easter

This year I went with very simple, whimsical
mantel decorations for spring and Easter!

I started with a new blackboard download from Dear Lillie.
I always love her designs...

Then I added lots of whimsical spring and Easter decor.
This ceramic chocolate bunny is holding a big egg painted by our youngest granddaughter, last year when she was two.  I love treasures like this...

You could find rabbits at the thrift store and paint them
with gloss brown paint, to get this look!

I used my rusty old toy truck to pull a little trailer of eggs...

under the watchful eye of a flocked bunny.

This big rabbit statue is a favorite...chippy, rusty, aqua spring fun!

Before I go...
You might have seen this over on my Instagram.
These are chalkboard paint eggs with chalk...from Walmart for $1.98! So cute!

A big thank you for all of your nice comments and well wishes!
I am working hard at physical therapy and resting!

Until next time...

  1. Linda, I think your mantle is perfect for spring. I love the idea of painting bunnies to look chocolate. Clever girl !. Yes, that egg will be a treasure. Blessings to you for a fabulous weekend. We are in for 60-70's this weekend. :) xoxo, Susie

  2. What a sweet display, love the truck with the wagon of eggs! I made some chocolate bunnies with thrift store rabbits and brown paint like you said a few years ago, they really do look like chocolate!

  3. What a darling mantel. I hadn't read that you were injured. I hope this finds you better every day. I love that chippy pick up truck. Too cute.

  4. I love your vintage pretties. You've certainly collected some wonderful finds over the years!

  5. I'm all about simplicity these days, and you've captured a simple whimsical look for your Easter mantel, Linda. I love your vintage truck pulling an extra large load of colored eggs with the flocked bunny keeping watch! And the egg painted by your granddaughter is a lovely little treasure. You've inspired me to bring some spring inside our home, too.

I'm glad you're well on your way to recovery and I hope you're soaking up some of that MN sunshine today!

  6. Beautiful. I'm partial to the bunny "bust" and love the combination of fonts used for the Easter message.

  7. The chippy white truck with the rabbit on the bed and the trailer of eggs is a delight as is that wonderfully old rabbit bust, what an inviting mantel.

  8. I love all your bunnies and eggs - especially the faux chocolate one! I love Dear Lillie signs too - I need to get another one.

  9. Linda,

I love how you've mixed the whim of spring with the true celebration of Easter. And those painted bunnies ore awesome!!! Happy Easter. Blessings,

    Jane x

  10. That mantel is just SO Springy & Easter-ish! I love it. Your bunnies and yet a nod to the real reason for Easter, too, with your chalkboard. Great job. I hope you are getting better every day and will be 100% before summer rolls around. xo Diana
