With the onset of August, I am always drawn toward golden colors in decor. The landscape in Minnesota begins to hint of fall's return with dry grasses, sunflowers, goldenrod, dock, and wildflowers. There is even the occasional sighting
of a tree or sumac bush who, early to the party, dons their fall finery!
I particularly love these days, as the temperatures are more moderate
and humidity wanes. I look forward to putting away my red, white,
and blue decorating and bringing in the late summer hues!

Oh Linda, it is lovely! I was never a yellow fan, but have come to appreciate it so much lately. The soft golds are especially pleasing.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite color combinations and I love the way you put it together with delightful surprises like yellow clothespins. I'm going to paint my wicker flower basket red today! Gorgeous photography and a great eye for detail.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginene! Your flower basket sounds lovely!
DeleteThis was a lovely post, so warm and inviting, thank you for your HUTCH always, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI love that hutch! Must be so fun to decorate it with the different seasons.

Love your vintage china plates & that darling butter dish & the cheerful yellow color. So sweet. 😘😊❤💝
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beautiful decorator, Linda! Loving all the pretty, buttery yellow additions. Oh, and that white truck--LOVE :)
ReplyDeleteLinda, Your hutch is such a wonderful focal point. I am loving the golds and yellows. I have an old white truck too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLove all your pretty yellows! How I wish summer was on it's way out here but it is going full blast and it's hot! Guess I'll make the most of it and swim as much as I can! I'm like you though, I'm ready to pull out my transition decor!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Love your vintage linens and all your vintage goodies. You always display them so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! This is the time of year when some of you get to start thinking of fall but we still have a long way to go with summer. I'm always just a tiny little bit jealous.
ReplyDeleteI'll really be sad to see summer end, but I love fall too. Your hutch looks lovely as always, but I really love the honey jar used as a vase!
ReplyDeleteYour hutch decorating is always one of my favorite things to see in Blogland. You have such a knack for decorating it so beautifully. A friend of mine wanted my help in changing up her small hutch and I referred her to photos in your blog. ;-) Congrats to the winner of your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLoving the gold and yellow in that sweet hutch. It is hard to believe summer is going so fast.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your vintage treasures.
xoxo

Hurray for Ruth!!!
ReplyDeleteI get your vibe for the golden colors. I'm still making new areas with a lot of navy and bright colors, like my front porch and upstairs balcony. Come fall I think I'll switch out just a few things as much of my time is on the patio near the water. Fun to think of and plan. :-D

Yippee! That's me! I'm the winner!
ReplyDeleteI love how you 'ring the changes'
ReplyDeleteI love the golden yellow colours... perfect for August. Although here today it is grey, windy and wet :(
It has been a strange summer so far for sure....
Only you would think of using pool balls as a decoration :)
My favourite is your rocker on the porch and the gorgeous embroidered cushion. Love it!

I'm a little behind in my reading, so thank you for contacting me about winning. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI love the plate with the yellow flowers and the tea towel that seems to go with it. The embroidered pillow with the bird is so sweet. The balls are wonderful, and I wish I had a scale like yours! The windmill reminds me of my old stomping grounds in Ohio. They're disappearing. And, who painted the funeral flower basket red. Becoming! You showed so many things I like. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Linda - such sweet, vintage, late summer vignettes! Love how you added just a touch of golden yellow here and there. Your linens and dishes are always so darling. I hope you are enjoying the late summer sun. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely accents. I am LONGING for fall, but it comes late here in Texas!
ReplyDeleteI love how all the items come together to give you such a homey feel. You are so great at pulling it together. I think I need lessons! LOL! Have a great day!
