Summertime Fun and Goodies

The summer is flying by...it's nearly August already! In Minnesota we don't have a lot of summer left, so I have been trying to enjoy it!

Our gardens are lush this year...

I thought I'd share some of my recent Instagram photos with you!

These coreopsis flowers brightened a dark and rainy day...

and you can see the tomatoes growing, too!

The trumpet vine is beginning to bloom now.

And we have spent some time at the lake...the drive there is beautiful.

And when we arrive it is all about relaxing, and the water.

These little guys came visiting right before a storm...

We had rainy days, hot days, cool days, and beautiful sunsets.

I love how our neighbors' dock lights reflect beautifully...

And of course...there is always fishing.

What great photos- There is nothing like lights on docks at night. I put larger ones down on our dock this year and it is so cool to look down and see them at night. The old ones hardly showed from the house.

I won't sign up for the giveaway because I have been purging and getting rid of things and don't DARE add another thing to my storage area.

Just want to tell you that your photos are gorgeous. Don't enter me in the giveaway, either, I was recently given two big boxes of card making supplies and have all I can use for now.

Your gardens looks lush--I'm guessing the humidity! That's the only benefit here...

Gorgeous views of your lake. The sunset makes for some cool silhouettes. Great shots. You are right about the fast Minnesota summers and it's the same here for us. It makes me sad that we are past the halfway mark and I feel a bit guilty complaining. In six months we will be fretting over the cold!

Doesn't everyone in MN dream of having a cabin? This summer has been too hot, I'm not getting outside as much as I'd like to, but my tomatoes are LOVING the heat. Love your pictures!

Love the pictures. Just spent a week at the beach . . . but I still prefer a lake to the ocean or gulf.

I hear you about the too-short summers! I'm enjoying every bit of it that I can - except for the humidity. ;-) Your yard looks beautiful. Love the trumpet vine. And how lucky you are to have those gorgeous views of the lake! I would probably sit outside day and night if I had those views. Thank you for including me in your giveaway!

Be careful with that trumpet vine. It can get under your roof and siding. That can let in rain as well as unwanted animals and insects. If this is the vine that I am thinking of, it sends off shoots underground, and it is difficult to make it stop growing all over the place. The seed pods also plant themselves.

I love your little give-away packet. I especially like the Virginia Beach envelope. I don't live there, though. I live in near-coastal, southeastern NC. Have a great summer! rush88888 at gmail dot com
