So much going on in the world right now...hurricanes, wildfires...hard times for families. I am grateful the last two weeks to have been able to spend some time with my mother, who was visiting us. We have had fun family gatherings and we even traveled to a family birthday party where I reconnected
with lots of relatives I hadn't seen in many, many years!
We are keeping those in harm's way in our prayers.
Today I thought I'd share a few fun finds that I found
while introducing my mom to a couple of my favorite thrift stores!
I love this unusual round picnic/sewing basket!
It has beautiful details...
This black suitcase is a keeper!
I love the silver hardware and leather-covered handle...

I have been on the hunt for handmade pottery lately...this piece is perfect.
Finally, I found this wonderful Italian tole gilt lilies lamp.
It still has the metal "Made in Italy" tag.

Before I go, I wanted to share a wonderful book from the ever-so-talented KariAnne Wood of the blog Thistlewood Farms!
So Close To Amazing (affiliate link) was launched this week
with great anticipation and wonderful reviews.
Karianne is funny, sweet, and her book will touch your heart and make you laugh!
I purchased the copy you see and all opinions are my own.

Great finds especially the basket and the suitcase. I've spent the week fretting about Irma. My daughter lives in south Florida and she finally got to my house about noon today. Thank heaven!
