Fun Finds

It's always fun to share finds with you!  This week spring finally reached us here in Minnesota, so besides a thrift store visit, we even had neighborhood
garage sales to go to!  It was so much fun after a long winter!

Vintage finds- Itsy Bits And Pieces

This lovely old cup and saucer was $2.25.  Made by Wedgwood, England, it has a lovely bird pattern...and I love black and transferware.

I was surprised to find this heavy cement garden statue in the thrift store!
It was $7.49.

I found a few vintage wood utensils for my collection...50 cents each.

A pair of punched tin candleholders caught my eye...$3.50 for the pair.

I painted the backs and bases white, to accentuate the punched decoration.

I added a pair of battery operated candles, with a realistic, dancing flame.
You can find these candles in my
if you are looking for some!

Here's a little video snippet to show you how they flicker...we will be using these as part of our master bedroom redecorating at the lakehouse.

These last two finds were from my first garage sale visits this season!  I loved these chunky baluster pieces...$1 each. The wood has a wonderful old patina.

Finally, this big, wonderful old baby basket came home with me...$5.  It will be holding bedding or maybe, hydrangea soon.

Have you had some fun vintage finds lately?
I'd love to hear about them!

Until next time...

  6. Great finds, Linda!! I haven't been thrifting or to a garage sale in eons and it's about time I do!! My daughters are both big thrifters - we have a great shop right here in town but it's only open from May - Oct 3 days a week....2 of them when I'm working! One of these days I'll pop in for a nosy around, perhaps on a rainy day.
