A Simple Fall Mantel

This year, I have been trying to keep my fall decor simple and easy! One way to do that is to use color to get the cozy feeling I want! Today I'm going to share a simple fall mantel with you...and not a pumpkin in sight! (Don't worry...they are around the rest of the house!)

I started my mantel decor with a big chalkboard. It is one I made for my daughter's wedding using an old frame...definitely a favorite piece!
I love the chippy plaster details...

I added a couple of white lanterns at each side of the blackboard, as well as two old chalkware cats...for a little nod to Halloween.

Then I took a vintage baguette basket...

and filled it with old, chippy, wooden croquet balls...in fun colors for fall.

Finally, I added a grapevine wreath adorned with a gingko leaf garland.

A simple mantel for fall...

That dark yellow up against the chalkboard is AMAZING! I'll pop on by the other blogger's post later tonight when I have a minute to wrap myself in their decor :)

I love your colorful Fall mantel and how you added those sweet vintage cats too! You always find the best stuff. Of course, you know I'm bananas about the chalkboard because the frame is amazing. I know your daughter was so excited to have it at her wedding. Sending you hugs, CoCo

Your fall mantel is beautiful! I am purposely staying simpler in my seasonal and holiday decor now, too. I love that wreath on the chalkboard. Did you make that? And how clever you are to put those colorful croquet balls in the baguette basket. They fit just perfectly and add just the right amount of fall color!

Love all of your vintage touches to your mantel. The colors just pop from the white surroundings. Especially the gold garland on the wreath. It's happy and fab fall. Enjoy!

Your mantel may be simple, but it is just perfectly styled for fall. My favorite is those vintage croquet balls in the basket! Just great!

Linda, Your wreath with the yellow leaves looks gorgeous above your mantel. I like your idea of using the croquet balls. I've got an old set at our cottage that I need to get out now! Oh, and the cats are too cute!

Great idea to only use the Halloween/Fall colored croquet balls! I usually put them away after summer; now you got me thinking about the possibilities...red, green and black at Christmas...Love the simplicity, Linda!

Linda this is simply adorable and so creative! It truly has a fall look without the pumpkins. It's just bursting with vintage fall charm. I adore the simplicity of the wreath, and I am crazy for croquet balls! The chalkboard frame is beautiful!
