We are deep into January, and well into winter! This week was quite snowy...perfect for working on some simple winter projects and decor! All of the obvious Christmas decor has been packed and stored away until next year...
but I still enjoy keeping a cozy winter feeling in the house,
since we are indoors so much.

I found this piece of wall art at the thrift store last week.
It reminds me of a skinny, shallow dough bowl.
I removed the wire hanger, painted it out with dark gray paint, and used some of my favorite Flameless Flickering Tea Light Candles to give a pretty winter glow!
A little paint can really update an outdated piece!
I changed up pillow covers, too! Rather than have a lot of pillows in storage, it so much easier to have pillow covers that you can unzip and change out.
I am neutralizing the living room color a little right now,
and pillow covers are a great way to simply do that.
I found this great Family Pillow Cover...so perfect for our home.
I recently won a fun giveaway from Funky Junk Interiors Old Sign Stencils! Donna has so many wonderful stencils!
I selected the Christmas Crates stencil.
I know I'll have fun making lots of things with it for next Christmas...
but for now, I am using the cute snowflake part of it for winter.

I stencilled it randomly on a pillow cover with black fabric paint. One hint...when I paint a pillowcase, I always put a piece of cardboard inside the cover, to keep the paint from going through both layers. I love how this cover turned out!
I switched out some wall art,
and my letterboard, too!
And I was thrilled to find this wonderful pair of vintage 60's snowshoes
at the thrift store this week! So perfect for winter decorating!

DeleteHi LInda,
ReplyDeleteYour house looks so cozy for the winter months. Love your deer with his pom poms. Very creative to paint the sign that looks like a dough bowl. That is really pretty with the candles. Looks great. Happy Tuesday.
