A Stormy Work Day at the Lake...

This week we spent a couple of work days down at the lake getting ready for our oldest son and fiancee's outdoor wedding there next week (thankfully they do have a backup plan, but hopefully we don't need it)!  It has been so hot and humid lately, making it pretty miserable working outdoors!  My husband powerwashed the deck and stairs~ we did the dock last weekend.  At least he was staying wet with all that water spraying around!  I worked staining a beautiful arbor he built for the ceremony~ this is just the top~ I'll show it finished in another post.

We also trimmed trees and washed down the patios, etc...but we were interrupted by this scary, but gorgeous looking storm...

It was so dark and the water looked aqua reflecting it...

It downpoured and then we got back to work...the deck and stairs cleaned up nicely...

This egret (see him hiding in there) decided to pay a visit...

and we ended up with a beautiful sunset...

Still hot, but so pretty...

Until next time...
Linda

  8. Oh my gosh,
This is absolutely beautiful! You lucky pup...how neat to have a place to go to that is so dreamy...I'm swooning..and how gorgeous for the wedding!

The sunset is so beautiful...and your photography is breathtaking.

I'm glad you liked the house photos...The house has such high ceilings and so much empty space that I kept getting close-ups of everything and was afraid it looked cramped...lol

But, when I didn't do that it looked like they were empty rooms..so, I did the best I could.

Wow, the lake is so gorgeous that you must be in 7th heaven right now!
    Hugs,
    Cindy

  10. What great storm pictures! And congratulations to all for the upcoming wedding. What a wonderful setting for such an occasion. Thank you for your comment on my frenetic post. I'm afraid I haven't had a lot of time to catch up on reading my favorite blogs, but I'm glad I stopped by yours before hitting the hay tonite. BTW, I am trying really hard to spot one of those barn quilts as I make my way home! Best wishes for the upcoming nuptials.

  13. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. The lake will be the perfect setting. I look forward to seeing pictures.
We lived in Minnesota for two years and I remember experiencing some of the worst storms up there (and I grew up in Kansas). Those were some pretty nasty looking clouds you pictured. Glad it passed by without event and you got a gorgeous sunset out of it.
    Have a great weekend.

  18. Wow! what a great place for a wedding--beautiful! I hope that the weather is great and that the wedding itself is a joyous, beautiful event :) My mom has suggested several times that when I get married, we should at least have the reception in our large backyard...we will see when that day comes :) My mom has transformed our one acre of land into a beautiful landscape of several gardens. anyway, I wish you and your family the best as you celebrate the excitement of two hearts being joined in matrimony. I love weddings!
