Vintage Bottle Caps...

I have a thing for vintage bottle caps...so colorful and graphic...a reminder of days past!  I've been putting together groups for my Itsy Bits And Pieces etsy shop...

I love putting them in lots by color...I think they would be wonderful framed as artwork!  Thought I'd share some of, what to me, is pure eye candy...

Aren't they great looking?  Like little works of art...  If you're interested, these cap lots and more are in my etsy shop.
I've seen many great ideas for using bottle caps...magnets, jewelry, and altered art- we even had one man at the last Junk Bonanza who was covering the front of his Kegerator!  Have you seen or done any fun projects with bottle caps?
Here's a couple of BIG ideas I found on Pinterest~

Until next time...

  6. Wow Linda, I love these! Yes, they would be so darn cute framed. The turquoise, the red, and the red & yellow ones made my heart skip a beat. Can you imagine how many that portrait took? Loved how you group them!

  9. These are so fun! I just bought the retro set. The colors are perfect for my vintage yellow camper. I have to think of some way to display them. I can't imagine where you found such a huge pile of them. The husband was looking at them with me and said they are all unused. Thanks!

  13. Love the faded colors of old! There was a bottle cap artist at a recent show, made things covered in flattened out bottle caps. My husband even liked a patio table he had, but not the man sized banana chair(?) yikes!

  14. Oh, so sweet to see your collection. My daughter bought button covers made out of caps about 12 years ago. Did you have a Cheerwine in your group? It's the best cherry soda made in North Carolina. Cracker Barrel is the only place in Illinois to find this great soda. Thanks for the pics.

  15. I love these fun things!! They are great and it is fun to think about when things were simpler just because we didn't have so much back then!

  16. There is a project once where women croquet around the bottle caps and made a hot pad in the shape of a cluster of grapes used purple and blue thread.
My daughter took mine away from me I found it years ago when she was little and now that she has her own home she wanted it . She is into the vintage kitchen, turquoise and all

  24. WOW, Linda, these are fantastic!!! And the portrait of that woman is completely amazing!!! What a true work of art. I love them just as a collection too. I saw some art where someone took wooden crosses and put them on the crosses. That looks really great too. Isn't that a neat idea? Anyway, they were shown at a horse show and they are placed over the stalls of horses to bless them...I really loved it. xo Cindy

  32. I love bottle caps. I have absolutely nothing in my house made with them, and I think in 2012 I'm gonna have to change that. It's your groupings that talked me into it.
