Spring Flowers...and a Simple Project...

Well, we are finally having some warmer weather, but still a lot of snow on the ground (and it is snowing right now).  I am so in the mood for some spring flowers
 and decided to do a simple project, too!

Have you discovered the Norwegian blog Vibeke Design?  One of my very favorites, it is always full of beautiful photos and Scandinavian design.   Recently, I spotted the inspiring photo below, on her blog (click photo to visit the post)...

 I LOVE her beautiful old tote!  Now, I didn't have a great one like hers, but I did have a small wood tote from the thrift store, that perhaps, I could give a little makeover.

I mixed up some white paint with some aqua, until I had a color I liked,
 then painted the piece,

distressed it with a sanding block,

and finally waxed it with some DecoArt Americana Decor clear wax, to which I added a little dark wax, to deepen up the color and give it an aged look.
Once it dried, I buffed it out with a soft rag.

 I added some bottles and some lovely waxflowers for a welcome feeling of spring!

I'm enjoying the look!  Thank you Vibeke for the beautiful inspiration!

I am joining~

{I am a blogger for DecoArt, they provided some product used in this project...
all opinions are my own.}

Until next time...
