Ball Jars...International Can-It-Forward Day...and a Fun Giveaway...

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

This post is sponsored by Jarden Home Brands~ makers of Ball brand home canning products.

Recently I received a fun package of home canning and preserving products from Ball brand.  You can see more about all of these items at the Ball Fresh Preserving Store.

Aren't these great?  These are the new Spring Green Heritage Collection Jars...
a limited edition only produced in 2014.

I LOVE the color...perfect for so many things...home canning and storage, as well as decor and crafting.  I love that they are in 2 sizes...quart and pint.

They add a beautiful touch of green to my hutch...
and I can just imagine these filled with orange Chinese Lanterns this fall!

They also included some of their products for herbs.
I have an herb garden this year and these are wonderful helps!

The Fresh Herb Keeper helps keep herbs fresh up to two weeks!

The Dry Herb Jars are great for storing seasonings, spices, and rubs...they are stackable, with shaker lids and removable labels.

The Frozen Herb Starters will really come in handy...there are two trays to freeze herbs in butter, oil, or liquid.  You can toss the cubes into dishes you're cooking.
There's a recipe booklet with it, too.

The Ball 5-Blade Herb Scissors make cutting herbs a snap...no more chopping with a knife!  And the blade cover cleans the scissors.

They also sent the Ball Blue Book Guide To Preserving, a great 125-page guide with instructions and recipes for canning, pickling, dehydrating, and freezing.
I can't wait to try some of the techniques and recipes!

On Saturday August 16th, Jarden Home Brands is sponsoring  International Can-It-Forward Day, a day to celebrate home canning!  Held at Brooklyn Borough Hall Farmers Market, online viewers can also participate at~
http://www.freshpreserving.com/community/events/can-it-forward

There will be canning demos, crafting, herb gardening, mixology, as well as questions answered in real-time by Chef Hugh Acheson and other experts!
You won't want to miss it!

  53. I feel like this giveaway is meant for me! Our herb garden did so well this year that I told my husband that we had to find a way to preserve it. I recently inherited my mom's Ball canning books (some from the 50's!) and a few of her jars. Just goes to show you that Ball canning can be passed down from generation to generation! Thank you for a chance to win this generous giveaway!
