I've Got My Eye On You...A Simple Project...

Well, I planned to share fall decorating on my hutch today,
but the week has been busy and the photos didn't get done...SOooo...
Instead I'm sharing a simple project today!  I am often attracted to whimsical, quirky, or even odd or bizarre art...and this is one of those projects.  I had an old tennis racket...no strings...but I love the look. There are so many things you could do with these...chalkboards, memo boards, picture frames, etc...
and they are inexpensive at thrift stores and garage sales.

I love the rustic patina...

I had an idea in mind, and headed over to The Graphics Fairy to download and print out one of her human eye images.  I placed it under the racket, traced around the exterior and cut it out.   After gluing it to the backside of the racket, I added 2 little screws to the wood on the center back, about 4" apart, and stretched wire between them, to hang the piece.

I love weird art like this...it's a conversation piece... and stares over at our gallery wall...

Next, I think I'll try cutting down two rackets and attaching them to make eyeglasses...

Hope you have a wonderful weekend...
the weather has been beautiful here and the leaves are falling!

Until next time...

  1. Such a clever idea about the two brackets for eyeglasses. I love conversation pieces too! I have a BIG Taos drum from New Mexico that is my conversation piece. Something that is worth a lot and something that I will never part with,
