A Simple Project...Rustic Message Board...

Thank you for all of your kind comments about
my Fall House Tour! It was fun to participate!
A BIG thank you to Brenda of Cozy Little House for hosting it!

Recently, I found this rustic, chippy old metal sign when I was antiquing.  You can often find old metal signs,
discarded traffic and others, for a reasonable price...

I love the graphic look of old signs and with
the large blank, chippy area on this one, I knew
it would be perfect for a message board!
I have lots of vintage bottlecaps from my days as a vendor at Junk Bonanza and decided to use some to make some magnets...

If you want to make some, you need to use thick round magnets or build up the base.    I glued on (E-6000 works well) some old wood game markers and added self-stick thin magnets to those.  The magnetic part needs to be thick enough to extend beyond the cap a little, so it will adhere to the message board.

It also works well with post-it notes.   I have
some sets of finished bottle cap magnets in
right now, for those of you who might want some.

Also, if you are looking for custom color sets or bottlecaps without magnets for other projects, let me know and I'll see what I can do!

AND...coming up next post...we'll start the tour at
the Bachman's 2015 Fall Ideas House!
Until next time...
