A More Relaxed Christmas...

This year has been a more relaxed Christmas season for me.  With my knee issues and the very cold weather and snow, it has led me to take life slower...with restfulness and creativity.

This year, I have been more thoughtful about the gifts we are giving.  I haven't been able to go out shopping,
so this year I have hand made many of the gifts.
And I've found all the rest online shopping...
while sitting on the couch with the pups!

I enjoy finding fun, interesting online shops and unusual items.  One I like and wanted to share is The Grommet!

The Grommet: Discover What's Next

If you haven't visited their website, they have many fun, useful, and unusual items...each with a maker and story behind it.  They add a couple of new items each day, too!

My husband has been looking for a new grill cleaner for quite awhile.  We had the type with bristles...they can come loose and get into the food and he didn't want to use it anymore.

I bought two new styles I think he'll like, on The Grommet...
Shhhh!  Don't tell him...

The Brushtech Double Helix Grill Brush has a continuous loop system...heavy duty and very well made.

Here's a closeup I took of the brush...no loose wires.

The other one I bought him is
The Great Scrape Barbecue Tool.  You allow the hot grate to burn it's own scraping pattern onto the beautiful, heavyweight wood.

I know my husband will love these!

Last year I found this fun InRoad Toys Play Tape...it looks like a road and can be used on many surfaces and removed easily and is repositionable.  The grandkids have fun playing with it with their cars and blocks...and I keep some around for babysitting days!

They also have a Play Tape and Curves Gift Set...

They have so many great items for every interest!  It's fun to find something special that you know someone will love!

I've finished my shopping and now it's time for wrapping!
We're having a snowstorm today, so it's a good day to do it!

Until next time...

  1. Your yard looks so pretty under all the snow, Linda! I'm so sad that we won't be in your neck of the woods today watching our littles Christmas program, but that's winter for you. Unpredictable.

I'm going to check out that road tape! What a clever idea! We've got a little racetrack at our house, but it's hard to find a place for it where it's not getting stepped on, so this is a perfect solution. Thanks so much for sharing!

Your homemade gifts will be the most cherished, I'm sure. We're not celebrating with family until New Year's weekend, so I hope to find time to make a few little trinkets. Happy weekend and stay warm!
