A Picnic In The Park

Happy Summer!
Summer in Minnesota is always too short, so it's all about being outdoors
as much as possible! And what is better than a summer picnic?

Picnic In The Park- Itsy Bits And Pieces

I am participating in Wayfair's Life's A Picnic campaign...all opinions are my own.

Last week we had a lot of rain, and nearly 7" fell overnight one night.  Our dock was floating and the pontoon boat was rising from the lift...so we had to pull it all in.  Some neighbors have docks underwater and others have weighted them down, and many people had flooded basements.  Luckily we didn't have any water in the house, and we can put up with docks pulled in, and no-wake on the lake!

Our beach is underwater now, too, and there have been more rains
since I took these photos.  Still lovely to look at...

Our town has five lakes...four connected...and there are many beautiful parks.
We decided to pack up a quick picnic and check one out!
I recently received the Eco Rolling Cooler from Wayfair and couldn't wait to use it!

So we headed out to Sylvania Park, the oldest park in town...
full of beautiful old oaks.

Viking Man (aka my husband) carried the quilt and
pulled the cooler with the convenient removable rolling rack
(hey, somebody had to take photos) and we set up on a shady picnic table.

I love the exterior surfaces and the look!  It has a top opening to grab out bottles quickly and the top zips open to the insulated cooler section, as well...

The front has a pocket, and a zip section which holds all of the included pieces. Nothing is breakable, and it is securely held in place for transport.

We had a very simple lunch...meats, cheeses, and bread...
with fruit and yogurt, pecan shortbread cookies, and sparkling grape juice!
It was quick and easy to pack up!

It felt like such a special little lunch getaway!

It was so pretty to watch the boats and big clouds!

It would be fun to bring a picnic when music is being played in the 1926 Bandshell!

And I am imagining how easy it will be to to roll the cooler down our dock
and bring a picnic lunch on the pontoon...hopefully soon!

Until next time...

  1. Linda, What a wonderful picnic and with a strong Viking. :) I hate when people get that much rain at once...it's too much. Glad you were safe and got the dock out of danger. Flooding scares me. Blessings for a fun safe weekend. Stay hydrated. xoxo, Susie

  6. Sorry about all the rain. We've had a lot here, but it's not been that big of a nuisance yet. Maybe all the hot weather this weekend will dry you out!

  9. This post took me back to 4th of July 1982. We spent it in Waconia, Minnesota and visited many lakes to escape the heat.

Have a lovely 4th of July week.
