Summer Relaxation

It's been such a busy summer with moving and many home projects,
not to mention cleaning out, that we have really needed to relax
and take some down time!  For us, that means being in the outdoors!

I am participating in Wayfair's
Wayfair's

Being on the water is always relaxing.  Whether we are on the boat, or just
sitting on the beach watching the wildlife and the boats go by, we can
take a break and enjoy summer. I love just sitting out in the swing.

We love having family and friends...this last weekend 4 dogs, too!
Here's our newest granddog, Odin, a Boston Terrier and a real love!

There are sunsets to watch...

and fishing poles waiting.

Another way we relax is kayaking!  It's fun just to grab one and
head out on the water...all of the family enjoys them!

Sometimes there is a lot of beach toys and furniture, and with the kayaks our patio can seem cluttered, which doesn't add to the relaxed feeling.

We recently received the

Viking Man did the easy assembly.
The rack is very sturdy and weighs about 70 pounds, when assembled.

It is adjustable and can hold three kayaks.  We used it to hold our two, plus all of the paddles!  And we can even slide one of our tubes in the space behind the rack.

No more rain-filled kayaks...

Everyone loves the rack, and it leaves our patio uncluttered...
for more relaxing!

It's lovely to sit on the deck and enjoy the summer evenings...

I hope you are relaxing some this summer, too!

Until next time...

    1. Thank you, Linda! It has made a huge difference in the mess level, and it is so easy to get the kayaks on and off!

  2. Kayaking is one of our favorite activities. With Steve's artificial shoulder and severe arthritis in my right hand, we switched to pedal kayaks. They are so easy to use and much faster.

  9. I wish we had that rack last year. The kayaks laying around in my yard made me nuts. My kids took their kayaks to their own homes now.

    1. Thank you, Melanie! The summer flies by so quickly...we try to enjoy it as much as possible! This is the first year I've been able to kayak, with the knee surgery. It is still difficult to get in and out of the kayak, but I'm doing it!

  15. it was so fun catching up with you, Linda. I'm not surprised that our lives, living on lakes, are so similar. You have a gorgeous view, and a beautiful long pier. We live on a bay, or cove, as you know, so it's not so great for pictures, but we have so much fun with our rubber toys, kayaks and recently added paddle boards. The actual lake, just down a small channel is way too rough for any of this.

Storage is always a problem. We have a large garage and an oversized shed. Hubby is always searching for innovative ways to store everything. He rigged up something for the kayaks. It's okay except I can't reach them!

I laughed about your weekend with four dogs. Another huge coincidence with us. Last weekend my daughter Emily brought her Boston Terrier. Rusty isn't so lovable. He's hyper and jumps on people (he's all muscle and scratches us terribly). So she brought him unannounced with my having 2 of my own-- Milo is reaching his end, Layla is teeny weeny and 13, and Abby brings her baby, big 'ol Squall, which we never mind because she is the only child with no spawns! It was total havoc. We had to constantly shift dogs from place to place as none of them got along. I rolled with it but I also asked that she hold off on bringing him until Milo is gone. Geesh, don't people think? lol! Doggy heaven!

Ahhhh...life on the lake with all its drama!! And good times, of course!

    1. Oh yes! The dogs sure add to the fun lol! We discovered a dog park just a half mile from our house and it made a big difference just to let them run!
