More Kitchen Storage

I've been working on another kitchen storage area!
This time I worked on one of the built-in cabinets.

Kitchen Storage

The cabinet is floor-to-ceiling with shallow shelving on the front,
two of the front sections have doors and one section has open shelving.
Behind these sections is a trash/recycling area (broom closet), accessed from the side. This area might be be adapted for more storage in the future, too.

I painted the open cabinet back panel in the past, but the shelves were always a catch-all for all sorts of things.  I decided to use it more purposely
to display useful and decorative blue and white pieces!

The closed shelving (still painted the old green color) is being used as a
small pantry.  It actually holds quite a bit for such narrow shelving!

My round glass canisters are slightly too big for this area,
but big square jars will work.

It's so nice to have some pretty display space!
It will be fun to change out seasonally through the year!

I've started using the Woodpecker Wood Ware recipe box
to hold some much used recipes.

And look at this fun matching cutting board I found at the thrift store this week!  Have you seen one before? I hadn't!

  1. Linda, I love that skinny pantry. Gosh I need one desperately. That is suppose to be our winter project this year. Fingers crossed. I love the background color of the open shelves. No I have never seen a cutting board like that. I have seen a recipe box. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  4. Hi Linda! So nice to have a visit from you! I'm starting to forget how fun the old days of blogging were. But I'm still at it now and then. I love your new display shelf space. Just the right size to keep up with. And the blues are so nice. Some of my people have just moved to Wisconsin, so I will be thinking of you folks up north more than ever. Happy last of summer days!

    1. Thank you, Kathleen! When we bring our refrigerator, we'll have to remove a bank of cabinets that stretches over the stove...hoping to have some nice open shelving added there!
