Quick and Simple Fall Decor

With moving, much of my fall decorating around the house has been of the quick and simple variety this year.   I want to keep it simple, but still have a sense of the season, as we are still living here much of the time. It wouldn't do much for my spirit to live surrounded by packing boxes, so simple fall it is!

Quick and Simple Fall Decor

Our sunporch has a very minimal set-up with a small seating area...couch, loveseat, and chair.  The upper part of the porch where the furniture used to be is now a packing/staging area.  It's really nice to have this small area where we can relax and enjoy the fall beauty outdoors...

Simply hanging a sunflower print from a vintage wood hanger. and adding a basket with faux pumpkins brings fall into the space. My print came from a book I had (newer), but you can also find royalty free botanical prints on Pinterest.

I used neutral and fall colors on pillows...

Adding simple little items or vignettes in the house can add fall impact...
like the egg carton filled with faux eggs and a little nest.

And brown transferware always has a fall feeling to me.
The antique iron rest makes a cute spot for salt and pepper shakers, too!

Of course, simply adding pumpkins, gourds, and squash changes things up instantly.  I love the simple look of setting them in a basket...

Adding chalkboard or letterboard art changes things easily, too...

I'm looking forward to getting a few mums to set out,
and cutting some branches with fall leaves to display, too!

How is your fall decorating going...any quick and simple tips to share?

Until next time...

I don't envy you the nightmare of packing and moving....what a chore that is, although it can be exciting as well, dreaming of how you will decorate your new place!

  10. What great ideas- a wooden hanger for artwork, the sad iron stand as a display piece, the egg carton with a nest- they make me think "I can do that!" Thanks for the inspiration!

  12. Well, I haven't had a chance yet to pull out the FALL storage box but I did purchase a small block sing that reads "Hello Fall" so that will be my starting point. The sad thing is ... when I went to clear the mantel to start over for Fall, I was removing Bunnies! Yes! That is the last time I decorated the mantel. :)
