Hi Friends!
Hope you are doing well and staying healthy!
I know in some areas of the country things are opening up again, but here we are still in the stay home mode. So seeing spring green outdoors right now is surely good for the spirit!
It's chilly, but trees are beginning to blossom and it won't be long until the lilacs are blooming, too!
This week, I worked on a simple project and some spring decor to share with you!

I am joining the Spring Nesting Mini Blog Hop!
A BIG thank you to Cecilia of My Thrift Store Addiction for all she did to host this fun hop!
If you have just hopped over from The Crowned Goat...welcome!
I know you were inspired by CoCo's wonderful spring project!
We have spent this time staying home preparing our house for sale, and most of our things have already been moved. So I have had to get creative with my projects lately as far as materials go. One thing, though...I am using some of the items I've had forever, and never used!
Like this wood wall cabinet....
I've had this in storage for probably 15 years. I love the look, but not the wood color.
It's not an old piece, probably 80's era. I decided it was a perfect time to give it a little paint makeover and make it a piece I can actually use in my home.
I love the way it looks like spice drawers, but is actually two doors.
A couple of coats of cool gray satin craft paint, gave it the look I wanted.
Then, light distressing, got rid of the fresh paint look.
Now to decorate it for spring!
First a little nest and eggs...
And a little bottle, with a bingo card tag and key, holds little apple blossoms branches.
Next, I added a wooden stool and my new Market Basket. I found it on etsy and just love it!
This is the medium size, if you are interested in getting one.
I made two brown paper cones to hold some of my faux tulips (I love this brand and they come in many colors...I linked pink.) and forsythia. It looks so much like spring to me!
I'm looking forward to moving this to the lakehouse!
How would you use a little cabinet like this? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Next on the hop is At Home With Jemma! I know you will love her lovely spring tea post!
Until next time...
Linda, I absolutely love how you refreshed this charming cabinet. Your simple bottle vase arrangement is also lovely! Pinning!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Linda! I love the vignette in its entirety. Not sure exactly how I'd use a cabinet like that, but with current COVID conditions, it might be a good place to put masks, gloves and hand sanitizer if placed near the entry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun project! You definitely changed the whole look and your styling is beautiful. Love that basket below! So great to hop with you again. Stay well!

This screams Spring, Linda! I love it all! The color you chose for the cabinet is so pretty. And you know I'm gonna click over and check out that market tote the minute I finish pinning and typing out this comment :) It's fabulous. I'm so excited for you! Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the bingo card snippet and key hanging on the bottle with apple blossoms, Linda! Perfect combo of organic and vintage.Your gray paint update looks great on that little cupboard. I've never tried Martha'a craft paints, will have to keep that in mind! Always fun hopping with you and seeing your ideas, friend!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Linda,
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing transformations and you have definitely elevated this wooden cabinet to a gorgeous level.
We too are waiting for Lilacs to bloom.
These apple blossoms in the bottle vase are precious.
So lovely to share in this Spring Blog hop with you!
Jemma
Nice update and you styled it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, wonderful transformation, Linda! I love the color and the fact that it really does look like spice drawers (but is actually more practical!). Never thought of using paper cones on faux flowers (I use them on fresh flowers that I give as gifts), love the idea, and that tote:) Great hopping with you! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteLinda I love the paint color you chose...it instantly updated the cabinet! I was drawn to your market basket and how you wrapped your faux flowers in craft paper. So clever! I will be pinning that for sure!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful project! It's simple but packed full of beauty! The apple blossoms with the flowers wrapped makes them look very real. Finished with the bag, perfect!

Linda,
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I read this cabinet is not old, from the 80s. In my mind I calculated its age to be at least 30+. In some areas, that makes this little cabinet a VINTAGE item. Too funny. Your update has brought it into this era with the gray paint. The little bird's nest with eggs is perfect for it, and the apple blossoms perfect for spring.
I hope you get warmer weather soon.
Stay well,
Judith
Aww, I love that little cabinet! It looks so pretty now!
ReplyDeleteTania
The little cabinet re loved with new paint is so cute and I love the vase along with your sweet nest. Love a market basket with fresh flower look. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Love this friend! I remember when I won a prize your blog years ago and it was full of the most fun vintage things! I still have the Bingo cards! That craft reminded me of them!
ReplyDeleteHappy day!

This is a beautiful makeover! I love the color and that little bottle dressed with the key has given me all sorts of ideas! Thanks! Stay safe and enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, and a great treatment for those old maple pieces still lurking around!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandi! So much more my style now!
DeleteWhat a fun piece and I love the color you chose.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the mountains of southern California. All of our lilacs have come and gone, as have the pretty apple blossoms. One of my favorite vacations ever was when we traveled to New Hampshire in the Spring, and had a repeat of all the lilacs and blooms! But anyway, I was thinking your cute little cabinet might be useful for extra storage in your bathroom. It seems most people can always use more storage there. Thanks for sharing!
